2016 NEWSLETTER
The New Year is here and I am sure it will be as constructive and busy as the last year.
Our organization is in place to protect veterans’ rights to the best of our ability. We help support our troops overseas so that they know we care, as well as to help these same veterans when they return home. If any one knows of a veteran, or a veterans’ family, that is in distress, please pass along that information to one of our officers. Their numbers are listed at the end of this newsletter.
We hosted the Four Chaplains Service on Feb 3rd. There was a very good turn out from neighboring VFW, American Legion, and Cooties posts. Thanks to our commander, Clint Rudesill, for his hard work in organizing this event.
The Jim Dalke Memorial ATV Run sponsored by the Princeton ATV Club was a great success. It raised $600.00 for the Fisher House.
The Run for Sam was well attended again this year. Thanks for the time and effort given by John and Alicia Gende, their family and friends. This event awards a $1500.00 scholarship for an individual studying in the medical field. Great job guys!!
Our Golf Outing was again held at Two Oaks. The outing was very successful thanks to Jim and Judy Pifher, Ed Pycioch, Donna Prachel, Gary Fenske and their families. A big ‘thank you’ to all of the people who volunteered to make this such a successful event and we hope to see you all there again next year.
Master ticket seller, Mark Kramer, again oversaw our very successful $10,000 Raffle. Mark keeps this going along with other raffles for the Green Lake American Legion. Let’s all support him in his endeavors. Also thanks to all who sold tickets - we need and appreciate your help.
We want to send a big ‘thank you’ to Kevin Hughes for his tireless efforts organizing the Horse/shoe Tournament. Thanks also to Judy Pifher and Gary Fenske for doing the accompanying picnic. Good times and good food for all!
A huge ‘thank you’ to the fine ladies of the Women for Veterans, who host the Veterans Day Dinner, and continually support our post with events and projects each year. Special thanks to Judy and Sally for keeping the Pool and Dart Leagues going. Any ladies that would like to join the Women for Veterans can call Sally Dahlke at 920-369-6812 or Judy Pifher at 920-295-4155. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month. Call Judy for hall rentals as well.

During 2015, our post made several donations to community organizations. These include an imaging camera to the Princeton fire department, a bench at High Ground for the Persian Gulf Memorial (to be dedicated July 2016) and donated to help replace a flagpole at the Princeton High School at the request of an area girl scout working on her merit badge. A donation was also made to the Green Lake American Legion building fund. We also awarded two senior students a $500.00 scholarship, one student was from Princeton High School and one from the Montello High School.
In 2015, we also participated in the Father Marquette Day and Princeton Christmas parades.

As always we want to send a big Thank You to Kevin Hughes, for being the best Santa at the Kids Christmas Party and for putting the Horseshoe Tournament together for us.
The building project we undertook this past year, to revamp the entrance and kitchen, was a great success. Many thanks to Clint Rudesill and Jim Allen, who did a terrific job. An Atta Boy to Vern Calbaum for the finishing touches. You can "dance" in the kitchen now!
